JAKARTA - Former US President Donald Trump said he would stop financial assistance to Ukraine if he was re-elected as US president, according to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Monday 11 March.
In a joint interview with the Hungarian M1 television channel, Orban said that the war between Russia and Ukraine would stop if the US did not provide funds or weapons and European countries followed US steps.
"If America does not provide funds, then Europe cannot pay for the war alone, and the war will also end," he said, quoted by Antara.
Although Trump is no longer the current US president, Republicans continue to oppose the Democratic Party's proposal -- a party supporting President Joe Biden -- to send funds to support Ukraine in the fight against Russia.
"Trump said if he was re-elected, he would not let him do it again. He would not provide any funds. Thus, the war ended," said Hungarian PM.
