Mojokerto Regency Government Starts Repairing Broken Embankments That Cause Floods

MOJOKERTO - The collapse of the embankment in Wringinrejo Village, Sooko, Mojokerto Regency has resulted in flooding and submerging residential areas and now the Mojokerto Regency Government, East Java together with Perum Jasa Tirta 1 are starting to seek to repair the embankment.

The Regent of Mojokerto, Ikfina Fahmawati, in Mojokerto, Monday, said that for the repair of the collapsed embankment, his party had coordinated with Perum Jasa Tirta 1 to be carried out immediately.

"Yes, this is ready, it's just because of the situation and conditions that are not possible for material to enter here. So that later the local village head and sub-district head can mobilize residents to help repair the embankment. Anyway, how to immediately close the embankment. After closing it, it will be elevated," he said, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, March 11.

Regent Ikfina Fahmawati said that she had visited the broken embankment which caused flooding to hit residential areas of residents' houses in Sambirejo Hamlet, Wringinrejo Village, Sooko District, Mojokerto.

"The flood that has occurred since Saturday, (9/3) that night was due to high enough rainfall so that it was not strong enough to accommodate the water discharge from the Pikatan River in the Pacet area," he said.

During the visit, his party also ensured that the condition of the residents affected by the flood was safe and safe.

"The occupancy of everything is safe, then for the need to eat and drink, it has been supported by the Mojokerto District Social Service and has been sent. Then health assistance has also gone down to ensure the health of the affected residents," he said.

After reviewing the broken embankment in Wringinrejo Village, the first female regent in Mojokerto Regency also visited the broken embankment in Sambiroto Village, Sooko, which caused residents' houses around the scene to be flooded.

Then it was continued by reviewing the progress of the embankment construction in Kedunggempol Village, Pungging District, as well as reviewing the broken bridge which is a link between Kebongaul Village and Gondang Village, Gondang District.
