Support The Injourney Green Movement, HIN Commitment To Build A Sustainable Tourism Ecosystem

In order to support the sustainable tourism ecosystem of Hotel Indonesia Natour ("HIN") as a member of PT Aviasi Wisata Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney, participated in the InJourney Green Movement.

InJourney Green is an InJourney Group sustainability initiative to build a sustainable tourism ecosystem in Indonesia through the implementation of green environment in every aspect of InJourney's operations which has 3 pillars, namely Sustainable Operations, Sustainable Tourism Destinations, and Sustainable Environment.

Kick Off InJourney Green was marked by a planting movement of 15,000 trees simultaneously by all members of the InJourney Group which was attended by around 1000 participants.

The tree planting ceremony was held at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) Jakarta and the virtual participation of all InJourney members throughout Indonesia.

InJourney Green was also enlivened with various interesting activities including fun bikes, fun walks, and also green talks. This activity was attended by the Directors of InJourney and the President Director of Member InJourney along with millennial representatives of each member.

HIN support in this activity is in the form of planting 150 tabebuya trees at the Head Office of PT Hotel Indonesia Natour and The Sanur, Bali.

InJourney President Director Donny Oskaria stated that InJourney Green's initiative is a form of responsibility and concrete steps by Injourney Group in efforts to reduce world carbon emissions and support for the government's 2060 net zero emissions program.

This is a small step to encourage the growth of sustainable tourism, namely tourism that is oriented towards long-term impacts on the social, economic, and environmental sectors.

"We also invite all employees at the InJourney Group to start living a sustainable living lifestyle. Because to encourage the low-carbon tourism sector or net zero emissions (NZE) starting from ourselves," Donny said in his statement, Sunday, March 10.

HIN President Director Christine Hutabarat revealed that HIN is committed to creating a green and sustainable tourism in each series of company business operations as a step to realize the vision of Becoming Leading Green Indonesia Tourism Corporation for Sustainable Destination Ecosystem. "This collaboration is a strategic step and the group's injourney initiative to create positive changes for the environment and a better future," he said.

In line with InJourney Green's vision, HIN has actively implemented green and sustainable tourism in every aspect of company's operations including the development of basic infrastructure facilities in the Sanur Health SEZ or known as The Sanur, including the use of Waste Water Treatment Plan ("WWTP") to optimize dirty water treatment which is then used for landscaping needs in the Sanur area.

As well as waste management through the temporary waste disposal site "TPSS" facility using the sustainability method in the form of separating domestic waste disposal sites, B3, and B3 medical in the area.

In addition, The Sanur as the First Health SEZ in Indonesia also presents the Ethnomodic Botanic Garden facility and has planted around 1,460 in the garden.

The Sanur has also implemented a motorized vehicle-free area by providing electric vehicles for the mobility of visitors.

In hotel operations, HIN also applies the use of environmentally friendly materials such as a Toolbrush of bamboo, woven slipper, use of glass bottles of divergence and straw made from cornpati.
