Mahfud Reveals Ganjar's Response After IPW Reported To KPK

JAKARTA - Prospective vice president number 3Mahfud MD also responded to the steps taken by Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) to report presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowoke KPK on suspicion of receiving gratuities or bribes in the form of cashback from insurance companies.

Mahfud admitted that he had communicated with Ganjar about this.

"Of course I always communicate with Mas Ganjar. His response is calm," Mahfud was quoted as saying by ANTARA, Thursday, March 7.

Meanwhile, Ganjar has also responded to the IPW report to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) which dragged his name.

"I have never received gifts or gratuities from what he accused," said Ganjar, who is also the former Governor of Central Java.

Previously, IPW reported Ganjar to the KPK along with one other person, namely the President Director of BPD Central Java for the 2014-2023 period with the initials S to the KPK.

IPW chairman Sugeng Teguh Santoso said the report was based on the alleged receipt of cashback from the insurance company. The value of the alleged gratuity or bribery reached more than Rp. 100 billion.

"IPW reports allegations of corruption in gratification and/or bribery in receiving the cashback of several insurance companies to the President Director of Bank Jateng (initial S) and also the control shareholder of Bank Jateng Ganjar Pranowo (GP) is expected to occur from 2014 to 2023," he said.

Sugeng explained that the insurance company provides credit guarantee coverage to Bank Jateng creditors who are understood as cashback.

"Five percent for the operations of Bank Jateng, both central and regional, 5.5 percent for shareholders of Bank Jateng consisting of local governments or regional heads, of which 5.5 percent is given to controlling shareholders of Bank Jateng who are suspected to be the Regional Head of Central Java with the initials GP," he explained.

Meanwhile, the Head of the KPK News Section, Ali Fikri, confirmed the report from the IPW and will immediately follow up and carry out further verification.

"After we checked, it was true that there was a community report in question. We immediately followed up with verification first by the KPK public complaint department," said Ali.
