JAKARTA - The National Police's Security Maintenance Agency (Baharkam) arrested a foreign ship suspected of originating from Malaysia. This is because the ship carried out illegal or illegal fishing fishing in Indonesian waters.

"The Directorate of water police, Baharkam Polri, has arrested foreign fishing vessels or KIA with Malaysian national flags in the waters of the Riau Islands Malacca Strait," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, to reporters, Wednesday, March 6.

The arrest began when there was information about illegal fishing in the waters of the Malacca Strait, on February 28. Therefore, a search was carried out and a ship was found with PSF 2500.

Then, the ship was stopped and checked. There is one captain and three crew members or crew members.

"After being inspected, the ship was not equipped with official documents for fishing in Indonesian waters," he said.

"The Directorate of Polair Baharkam Polri has secured 1 captain and 3 crew members with Thai and Myanmar citizenship," he continued.

The inspection was also directed to the storage area on the ship. As a result, 200 kilograms of fish were found which were suspected to be illegal fishing products.

From the results of the inspection, in carrying out their actions, they used the mode of following the international commercial ship route to trick Polair patrol officers.

"They are handed over to the supervision of marine and fishery resources or Batam PSDKP for further handling," said Trunoyudo.
