Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Hadi Tjahjanto assessed that there was a need to repair the East Java (East Java) Regional Police's explosive warehouse after the explosion incident that occurred on Monday (4/3).
The warehouse repair was carried out to improve security aspects in storing explosives.
"Maybe we need to repair the warehouse. It was conveyed by the Kapolda," said Hadi when met at the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) building, Menteng, Central Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 5.
This security aspect is also needed to protect Polda personnel who are on duty around the warehouse.
Hadi was also reluctant to provide further corrections regarding warehouse repairs. He left it entirely to the East Java Police Chief for repairs.
It was previously reported that there was an explosion at the Subden Jibom office of the Gegana Detachment of the East Java Regional Police Satbrimob, on Gresik Street, Surabaya, Monday (4/3) at 10.19 WIB.
East Java Police Chief Inspector General Imam Sugianto said the explosion was thought to have originated from the remains of the explosives that would be destroyed or exposed.
"So coincidentally, Jibom Gegana, the East Java Regional Police, does not yet have a standard warehouse, so the remains of the explosives are stored next to his office and Gegana exploded this morning," said the Kapolda.
