Bey assessed that the departure of Solihin GP had left deep sorrow for the people of West Java and many national figures, given the firmness shown by him during his tenure as governor of West Java from 1970 to 1974.
"On behalf of myself and the West Java provincial government, as well as all residents of West Java, I express my deep condolences for the passing of Mang Ihin and we pray that the deceased will die prosperously and be accepted by his deeds of worship by Allah SWT," he said.

Solihin GP died while being treated at the Advent Hospital and was then buried at the family funeral home on Jalan Cisitu Indah, Bandung City. A number of West Java figures attended the funeral home, including Acil Bimbo, Jaka Bimbo, Ceu Popong, and Atalia Praratya.
