PKB Affirms Fixed Agenda Changes In The 2024 Pilkada

Deputy Secretary General of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Syaiful Huda emphasized that his party will continue to carry out a change agenda in the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada.

The narrative of change is the idea brought by the presidential and vice presidential candidates number 1 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar carried by PKB, NasDem, and PKS.

"We will continue to encourage the agenda for changes that have been the main agenda in the presidential election in 2024 which in stages and have even begun in front of our eyes," said Huda at the PKB DPP office, Cikini, Central Jakarta, Monday, March 4.

According to Huda, the strategy for change in the 2024 Pilkada also needs to be used in regional-level political contestation. Because, this is a strategic step to solve the challenges of community development and equality. "The challenges we face are quite heavy in the future and we believe that one of the agendas other than the presidential election that can maintain this change agenda is leadership at the provincial level, district/city levels throughout Indonesia," said Huda.

So is PKB still on the axis of the coalition of political parties carrying regional heads in the regional elections with NasDem and PKS like the 2024 presidential election?

Huda said that the continuation of the Coalition for Change in the 2024 Pilkada could happen. However, PKB still opens space for other political parties to be in one line to carry regional head candidates.

"Incidentally, we already have a fairly good chemistry during this presidential election in the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada agenda, the coalition that was built from PKB PKS and NasDem will be part of one option in order to carry several candidates in regions throughout Indonesia. But, at the same time we continue to open communication with other political parties outside the Change Coalition," he said.

PKB continued, Huda had carried out initial mapping in capturing candidates for governor-deputy governors, candidates for regent-deputy regents, and candidates for mayor-deputy mayors in the regional elections.

In addition, PKB will also carry out a forum for absorbing the aspirations of the community to propose and provide input on which potential figures are considered to be promoted in the 2024 Pilkada.

"We are preparing a kind of forum where public involvement can be maximally involved in determining which candidates will be promoted by PKB in the upcoming regional elections. We call this forum a public meeting up PKB," he added.
