Iriana And OASE KIM Jalani Gerangan Stop Food Boros In The Middle Of The Expensive Rice Prices

JAKARTA - First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo and Wury Ma'ruf Amin socialize food security to elementary school (SD) students in Cirimekar Square, Bogor Regency, West Java, Monday, March 4.

This series of socialization activities through the food-intensive cessation movement is a collaboration between the Solidarity Organization of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet Era (OASE KIM) and the Central Family Welfare Empowerment Mobilization Team (TP PKK) chaired by Tri Tito Karnavian, regional PKK TP, and the National Food Agency.

"If we go to a restaurant, we go to an invitation, we take enough food. Don't let us throw away food waste so much. This concerns other people who still need it," said General Chairperson of the Central PKK Tri Tito Karnavian in his official statement, Monday, March 4, quoted by Antara.

Tri explained that the movement to stop wasteful food is a form of socialization to the public to eat enough food.

After socializing the food waste stop movement, Iriana and Wury carried out a national chili planting movement together with TP PKK throughout Indonesia via video conference.

The national chili planting movement is expected to help meet the needs of household-scale chilies. "It is hoped that with this national chili planting we can help reduce inflation where the price of chili is now quite high," said Tri.

In addition to these two activities, Iriana, Wury, and OASE KIM members spread fish seeds with the community in Situ Cittah, Ciimekar Square.

Previously, senior economist from the Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (Indef) Bustanul Arifin estimated that rice prices would soar until next April or when the harvest season arrived.

The Bustanul assessment refers to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the rice monthly balance sheet will start to be positive in March 2024.

"My estimate is that the price of this rice will remain high until April 2024 harvest season or in Ramadan," he said when contacted by VOI, in Jakarta, Thursday, February 22.
