Don't Want To Be Missed Again, Central Jakarta Metro Police Install Metal Detector Devices At Every Polsek

Central Jakarta Metro Police conducted an evaluation of the security of the detention room and prison guard officers at the police station regarding the impact of the escape of 16 detainees from the Tanah Abang Metro Police some time ago.

According to the Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro, evaluation and tightening of visits to the detention room to prevent similar incidents, where visitors carry tools to help prisoners break into iron retailers.

And now, based on the evaluation carried out, the police will add metal detectors in every detention visiting room, both at the Resort Police and at the Sector Police.

"There is already (metal detectors at the detention visit). Yes (there is a tightening visit)," said Kombes Susatyo when confirmed by VOI, Monday, March 4.

In addition to adding metal detectors, the Central Jakarta Metro Police has also tightened supervision of prisoners visitors at each Polres and Polsek in Central Jakarta.

"(Supervision) in accordance with the SOP, including luggage (strictened)," he said.

Previously, as many as 16 prisoners from the Tanah Abang Metro Police escaped from the cell, Monday morning, February 19. This incident began on Monday, February 19, 2024, at around 02.40 WIB. The Tanah Abang Metro Police received reports from residents behind that there was a group of unknown people running.

After receiving the report, the Tanah Abang Metro Police immediately checked the detention room and found one ventilated cell room open. A cloth bond was found just fallen down from the iron theory that was cut.

A total of 11 suspects from 14 detainees who escaped from the Tanah Abang Metro Police detention cell have been arrested by a special team. Currently, the police are still chasing 3 other DPO detainees.
