JAKARTA - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the crisis in Gaza is proof of the collapse of the current global order, while referring to the conflict in Syria, Yemen, Libya, and Ukraine.

While speaking at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Erdogan said this century had turned into an era of crisis because the international order based on the rules had lost its meaning and became "no more than just a slogan."

"The current international system, without fundamental concepts such as solidarity, justice and trust, cannot fulfill the minimum responsibility," he said in a speech at the event held on Turkey's southern Mediterranean coast.

Regarding Israel's ongoing attack on the Gaza Strip, which has so far killed more than 30 thousand Palestinians, he said Western countries unconditionally supported Tel Aviv "involved in bloodshed with their hypocritical policies."

"What happens in Gaza is not a conflict, it is genocide, because war even has its own rules," he said, adding: "I am talking about betrayal, dishonorable targeting, dishonorable barbarity."

Erdogan referred to the brutal killing of civilians, including women and children, in Gaza, adding that trust in global justice and order had also been tarnished.

He underlined the need to "encourage" to establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian State with territorial integrity and its capital city in East Jerusalem based on a border set in 1967.

"The global community can only pay their debts to the Palestinian people through the formation of the Palestinian State," he added.

He said Turkey "sees Israel's barbarism with deep concern," and said it meant "dangerous barbarism targeting civilians queuing in line for help.
