Demonstration In Front Of The DPR Building, Polda Metro Implements Traffic Engineering

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya will implement traffic engineering following a demonstration of a number of mass elements in front of the DPR Building, Senayan Jakarta, today, Friday, March 1. However, its implementation is situational.

"Especially for traffic regulation, later we will be very situational in terms of the front line of the DPR, there is a main route that goes to the west," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Latif Usman to reporters, Friday, March 1.

The implementation of traffic engineering will refer to conditions at the location. The plan is that if the crowd continues to grow, the flow of vehicles in front of the DPR Building will be narrowed down to one route.

If it still does not accommodate, Latif continued, later the vehicle will be allowed to cross the TransJakarta route.

"So that it doesn't interfere with traffic, it will gradually, if it increases, we will use one lane," he said.

If the scheme still cannot overcome the problem of vehicle flow, then traffic diversion will be carried out starting from Semanggi to Shooting Field, Senayan.

"If we increase it again automatically, we will divert the flow from Semanggi, from Sekat Dua, from the Shooting Field, we will turn it around. So that people can really respect each other road users," said Latif.

As for securing demonstrations whose demands are to urge President Jokowi's impeachment, support the 2024 election fraud angket, to ask the KPU commissioners to be dismissed, thousands of joint personnel have been deployed.

The joint apparatus consists of members of Polda Metro Jaya, Polres Metro Central Jakarta, TNI, Pemda DKI and related agencies.

"A total of 2,593 joint personnel are carrying out security rallyes at the DPR/MPR RI," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro.
