KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy'ari/DOK ANTARA

The General Elections Commission (KPU) has corrected the anomaly data on the votes acquired by the 2024 Presidential Election in 154,541 polling stations (TPS).

The anomaly data is the number of votes acquired in the Recapitulation Information System (Sirekap) which is not in accordance with the C1-Plano Model Form or the vote count results of the 2024 General Election.

"(Vocation of votes) for the presidential election as many as 154,541 polling stations (have been repaired)," said KPU chairman Hasyim Asy'ari as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 27.

The KPU has made gradual corrections since February 15, 2024. In addition to the presidential election vote acquisition, anomalous data collection was also carried out in the votes acquired by the DPR and DPD elections in Sirekap.

"The election of the DPR RI is 13,767 polling stations and the DPD RI elections are 16,450 polling stations (which have been corrected)," he said.

Meanwhile, Hasyim explained that the findings of the anomaly data and the results of the corrections to the Provincial DPRD were carried out by the Provincial KPU. Then, the anomaly data and the results of the Regency/City DPR Member Election were carried out by the Regency/City KPU.

Sirekap is a tool developed and used by the KPU for vote count. This tool is the first time it has been implemented in elections.

This system is also in the spotlight, because it has experienced incorrect data input which resulted in a 'noise bubble' of one of the presidential and vice presidential pairs.
