West Java Police Arrest 3 Perpetrators Of Burning Candidate Cars In Pacet

The West Java Regional Police together with the Cianjur Resort Police arrested three perpetrators of burning cars belonging to prospective members of the DPR legislature participating in the 2024 General Election in Pacet District, from two different locations on Sunday (25/2).

Head of the Cianjur Police Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Tono Listianto said investigators were still investigating the three perpetrators in order to develop cases and car combustion motives in front of the DPR RI candidate winning post from the National Awakening Party (PKB).

"The three of them were arrested from two different locations in Cianjur by a joint team from the West Java Regional Police and the Cianjur Police. Investigators are still developing this case to reveal other parties involved, including digging the motive behind the arson," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, 26 February.

Tono explained that his party would provide further information after completing asking for information from the three perpetrators who burned the legislative car. The three perpetrators are still undergoing examination at the Cianjur Police Jatanras Unit.

"We will develop the case to reveal the motives and other perpetrators behind the burning of the vehicle belonging to the DPR RI candidate," he said.

Previously, the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the West Java Police conducted a crime scene (TKP) for the burning of two cars at the winning post for candidates for members of the DPR legislature from PKB in Cibadak Village, Sukagalih Village, Pacet District, Cianjur Regency, Saturday, February 17, 2024.

Head of the Cianjur Police Satreskrim AKP Tono Listianto said the case of burning by an unknown person had been handled by the West Java Police Ditreskrimsus.

"Currently, we together with the West Java Police Ditreskrimsus are still conducting an investigation to develop the case," he said.

Tono has not been able to provide complete information because the joint officers are still conducting an investigation. He confirmed that there was an element of intent because at the crime scene small jerry cans were found, matches and traces of the fire behind the two burning vehicles.

The information gathered stated that the team car for the success of the DPR RI candidate for the West Java III electoral district from PKB Neng Eem Marhamah Zulfa HIZ was allegedly burned by an unknown person in front of the winning post at the Gerbang Marhamah Foundation Community Work Training Center, Sukagalih Village, Saturday (17/2) in the morning.
