Two perpetrators of motorcycle theft (curanmor) in Bandung were beaten by a mob, after trying to act and shoot at the residents who chased him in Cisaranten Wetan.

The incident occurred last Sunday, after residents caught the perpetrator trying to steal a motorbike. According to a resident, Dinar, one of the perpetrators had pointed a gun at his head.

The perpetrator opened fire when being chased by residents. A moment later, residents were afraid because he was holding a firearm.

The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cinambo Police, Ipda Mulyana Winata, explained that the police immediately gave chase, but one of the perpetrators continued to shoot up twice.

"The incident occurred at around WIB, the problem was theft. The perpetrators were caught by the residents, totaling two people," he said.

Muliyana added that the perpetrator had fired an air softgun when he was being chased by the crowd. "First, the nodong first to the victim Dinar, when shouted at by the thief, the perpetrator was careless and ran away from shooting," he said.

As a result of the incident, two residents became victims of the shooting, one named Deden received gunshot wounds to the left waist, and another victim in the right hand.

The perpetrators were beaten by an angry mob, before finally being secured at the Cinambo Police Headquarters in Bandung, the two perpetrators were threatened with being subject to Article 363 in conjunction with the Emergency Law with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
