Bringing A Backpack, AHY Attends Jokowi's Initial Cabinet Meeting

JAKARTA - Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) for the first time attended the Plenary Cabinet Session at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, February 26. As reported by ANTARA, AHY appeared to be wearing a long-sleeved batik shirt and carrying a black backpack to attend the meeting which began at 09.30 WIB. "The contents of the backpack have books, documents, files. I have often brought gadgets in the military for work," AHY said in response to reporters' questions. The plenary cabinet session this time was considered very important, because it was the first experience for him after being appointed as a minister of ATR/head of BPN by President Joko Widodo on February 21. "For myself, this is an interesting experience; because for the first time I was able to fully listen to input and issues presented from various ministries/agencies," he said. AHY's participation in the meeting attended by the ranks of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet was also considered important in the process of adjusting to various policies of President Jokowi's administration and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.

"I want to really listen to what will be explained today. As far as I know, we will all (discuss) preparations for the month of Ramadan, including about the prices of basic necessities. We want everyone to be stable and the community can calmly face the weeks ahead," said AHY. AHY was appointed as the minister of ATR/head of BPN replacing Hadi Tjahjanto, who was also appointed as coordinating minister for politics, law and security (Menko Polhukam).
