Conditions For The Implementation Of Regional Roads In Lebak Are Still Below 70 Percent According To PUPR Standards

LEBAK - The condition of regional road availability in Lebak Regency, Banten Province is still below 70 percent of the standard of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR). "We have approximately 250 kilometers of homework to work on, because the condition is not steady," said Head of Road Maintenance Division of the Lebak Hamdan Regency Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) in Lebak, Antara, Sunday, February 25. The condition of the less stable regional roads in Lebak Regency, due to various factors, geographically, is so wide. Lebak Regency, which has a road with a length of 730 kilometers, is around 60-70 percent in a steady condition. Meanwhile, he said, the remaining 23-30 percent of the conditions were lightly damaged, moderately, to severe. However, this year's local government is 6 kilometers long in the process of building the Sukabajan - Cigemblong road. The condition of the less stable road section, he said, if it is charged with allocations to local governments, it will certainly take between 10-15 years. Moreover, currently the regional budget is relatively small after the recofusion and budget efficiency. Therefore, the Lebak Regency Government has submitted to the Ministry of PUPR and Banten Province to handle a number of less stable regional roads that can be realized as soon as possible. This is because the application for regional road construction is in accordance with the Instruction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia (Inpres) Number 3 of 2022 concerning the Acceleration of Increasing Regional Road Connectivity. Where the inpres is to accelerate the improvement of regional road connectivity, because it has a positive impact on the community's economy. In addition, it can also reduce national logistics costs, integrate between economic centers, and help equalize steady road conditions. "We hope that the Ministry of PUPR and Banten Province can help build the regional road so that it can accelerate national development," said Hamdan. He said the local government is now focusing a strategy on the priority scale of the construction of any regional road to speed up handling. This year, it is dominant for the construction of regional roads in central and southern Lebak Regencies starting from Leuwidamar - Gunungkencana - Cijaku and Cigemblong sub-districts. Meanwhile, he said, the northern part of Lebak Regency is relatively good. "We are committed to regional road development in an effort to increase economic income and community welfare," he said. Meanwhile, a number of residents of Lebak Regency positively welcomed the construction of the 6-kilometer Sukabajan - Cigemblong road so that it could open access to the economy of the local community.
