LSI Survey: 31.4 Percent Of People Believe The 2024 Election Is Fraud

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) released a poll regarding the evaluation of the 2024 General Election in the eyes of the public. One of them is the assumption that there is fraud in the election. LSI Executive Director Djayadi Hanan explained that 31.4 percent of respondents rated the 2024 election as fraudulent. Meanwhile, 60.5 percent considered there to be no fraud, then 8 percent did not answer. "The majority of the people still think that the election is not colored by fraud. But this 31.4 percent figure is very large," Djayadi explained in an online survey presentation, Sunday, February 25. LSI then divided the proportion of respondents into voter bases for each candidate pair (paslon) of presidential and vice presidential candidates. In respondents who thought that the 2024 election was marked by fraud, the most were candidate pair voters number 1 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, which was 38.1 percent. Furthermore, 36 percent were candidate pair 2 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka 36.5 percent, and candidate pair 3 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD voters were 25.4 percent. Meanwhile, respondents who thought there was no fraud in the 2024 election, the majority were Prabowo-Gibran voters at 71 percent, Anies-Muhaimin voters at 16.9 percent, and Ganjar-Mahfud voters at 12 percent. "Indeed, the voters of Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar are the proportions that think that there are more fraudulent elections. But quite a lot of Prabowo voters, then Ganjar," explained Djayadi. "The election of many frauds is not asked specifically who committed fraud. So, the fraud can be various things, from all directions, from any party, from any candidate," he continued.

For information, this survey was carried out in the period 19-21 February 2024 with 1,211 respondents. The survey method is carried out randomly digitly, namely through the process of generating telephone numbers randomly, validation, and screening. The survey margin of error with the number of samples nationally is estimated to be +/- 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level using the simple random sampling assumption.
