Advocate Alliance Invites People To Maintain The Results Of The 2024 Election In Accordance With Mechanism

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Advocate Alliance invites all parties to maintain the results of the 2024 General Election based on existing mechanisms.

Secretary General of the Indonesian Advocate Alliance, Dwiyanto Prihartono, said that the election results according to existing mechanisms must be maintained and delegitimated through various maneuvers, including the right of inquiry.

According to him, those who are not satisfied with the provisional results must continue to make the legal process the main solution in resolving disputes related to elections.

He reminded that the KPU is an official institution according to the law that must be referred to regarding the election results and currently has not published the final tally results.

"So that based on the laws and political ethics of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates, supporters and various related parties, especially those affected by the KPU's provisional results, they must also respect the process that is being carried out and the results of the KPU's calculations later," he said, quoting Antara.

The calculation of votes by the KPU is still in process until the deadline for March 20, 2024, or 35 days after the voting date on February 14, 2024.

Meanwhile, the Constitutional Court is a judicial institution that has been provided by the state to resolve disputes over election results. Objections to the KPU results also have a mechanism so that efforts are not needed outside the channels provided.

"So, everything that is protesting over the results of the calculation or whatever, of course, must wait for the results of the KPU and must first go through a settlement process at the Constitutional Court," he said.

He also reminded that the interests of a group of people should not be a step that results in a misunderstanding that the 2024 election seems problematic and has no legitimacy.

"There are no election results yet, but some have maneuvered the results of the calculations that have not been finalized and officially announced," he said.

The 2024 election includes the presidential and vice presidential elections, members of the DPR RI, members of the DPD RI, members of the provincial DPRD, and members of the district/city DPRD with a national voter list (DPT) of 204,807,222 voters.

The 2024 election was attended by 18 national political parties, namely (according to the serial number) of the National Awakening Party (PKB), Gerindra Party, PDI Perjuangan, Golkar Party, NasDem Party, Labor Party, and the Indonesian Gelora Party.

Next, Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS), Partai Kebangkitan Nusantara (PKN), Partai Hanura, Partai Garuda, Partai Amanat Nasional (PAN), Partai Bulan Bintang (PBB), Partai Demokrat, Partai Solidaritas Indonesia (PSI), Partai Perindo, Partai Persatuan Pembangunan (PPP), and Partai Ummat.

In addition, there are six local political parties as participants, namely the Aceh Nanggroe Party, the Atjeh Beusaboh Tha'at and Taqwa Generation Party, the Aceh Darul Party, the Aceh Aceh Party, the Aceh Prosperous Justice Party, and the Acehnese People's Independent Solidity Party.

Meanwhile, the presidential and vice presidential elections were followed by three pairs, namely Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar as number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. serial number 3.

According to KPU Regulation Number 3 of 2022, the recapitulation of the 2024 General Election is scheduled to take place from February 15 to March 20, 2024.
