North Sumatra Police Investigate Fraud In The Mode Of Akpol Cadets

The North Sumatra Police (North Sumatra) conducted an in-depth investigation into alleged fraud and embezzlement cases by entering a police academy cadet (Akpol) who went up to the fingerprint or examination stage.

"The case of fraud and embezzlement of the mode of entry of the Akpol cadet with the reported NW has gone up to the fingerprinting stage," said Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Hadi Wahyudi, in Medan, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, February 23.

Hadi said investigators from Sub-Directorate IV Renakta of the North Sumatra Police Criminal Investigation Directorate had examined seven witnesses in cases of fraud and embezzlement of the mode that included someone as the Akpol cadet.

The reporter, NW, has undergone an examination by investigators from the Sub-Directorate IV of the Renakta Dit Reskrimum of the North Sumatra Police.

"Yes, NW was asked for information in the capacity of the reported party regarding the police report from Afnir's brother regarding allegations of fraud and embezzlement, the mode could include someone being a police officer," he said.

Previously, Afnir, a resident of Serdang Bedagai Regency, visited the Sub-Directorate IV of the Renakta Directorate (Dit) of Criminal Investigation of the North Sumatra Police to ask for legal protection.

Accompanied by his attorney, Ranto Sibarani said his client claimed to be a victim of fraud and embezzlement by someone with the initials NW with the mode of receiving Polri members.

He continued that initially the victim met with NW because he promised to include his son as a member of the National Police NCO in August 2023.

Some time later, NW again promised because there was a remaining quota that could include the victim's child as an Akpol cadet.

"During meeting with NW, the victim was deceived with a total loss of Rp. 1.3 billion by promising his son as a member of the National Police," he said.
