Central Java Police Reveals Circulation Of 52 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine And Tens Of Thousands Of Ecstasy

Central Java Police revealed the circulation of around 52 kg of methamphetamine and 35 thousand ecstasy from a gang of Java and Sumatra network dealers.

Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi said the disclosure began with the arrest of two perpetrators at the East Sragen toll gate on January 12, 2024.

According to him, of the two arrested suspects, officers developed their cases to other areas until they found evidence of 1.01 kg of crystal methamphetamine and 250 ecstasy pills.

"From the suspects TO and RW who were arrested in Sragen, then the officers developed it to the Banten area," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 23.

Finally, the police then again arrested two perpetrators at the Cikande Toll Gate, Serang City, Banten, on February 21, 2024.

Of the two perpetrators, PR and GDA, the police secured 51 kg of crystal methamphetamine and 34,800 ecstasy pills.

According to the Kapolda, the illicit goods were transported using a box truck disguised in a cardboard box containing packaged drinks.

From the statements of the two suspects, the methamphetamine and ecstasy were brought from Lampung.

The Kapolda said the two suspects were promised a fee of Rp. 200 million to send tens of kg of crystal methamphetamine and hundreds of thousands of ecstasy.

For their actions, the four suspects were charged with Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
