North Maluku Police Send DVI Team To Identify Helicopter Victims Falling In Halmahera Forest

TERNATE - Biddokes Regional Police (Polda) North Maluku (Malut) dispatched a Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) Team to Weda to identify three victims of the Bell 429 helicopter crash in the Central Halmahera forest.

"In addition, we also established the Post DVI Post Mortem and assigned five personnel from the DVI team from the North Maluku Regional Police Biddokkes to assist in the identification of victims who are currently at the Central Halmahera Hospital," said Head of Public Relations of the North Maluku Police AKBP Bambang Suharyono, Thursday, February 22.

The three victims who were found dead have been identified, namely Capt. Agus Sumaryanto (Pilot), Capt Septian (Co Pilot) and Umar Ali are employees.

He stated that in the identification, the North Maluku Regional Police led by the Regional Police Chief Inspector General of Police Midi Siswoko together with the Deputy Chief of Police and several main officials who have come since Wednesday (22/2) to review directly to Central Halmahera to ensure that the evacuation can run well.

According to the Head of Public Relations, the North Maluku Regional Police through the Central Halmahera Police, Brimob Company Battalion C together with elements of the TNI and Basarnas managed to evacuate victims of the Bell 429 helicopter crash in the Central Halmahera forest.

He explained that the SAR team consisting of the National Police, TNI, Basarnas had evacuated three victims of the crash of a helicopter that had lost contact in the Halmahera forest on Tuesday (20/2).

"From the information gathered, there were three victims in the unfortunate incident, namely one pilot, one co pilot and one passenger," he said.

Meanwhile, the Ternate Basarnas Search and Rescue Office stated that the search for the Bell 429 PK-WSW helicopter that crashed in the Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP) mining area with the joint SAR TNI/Polri team.

Head of Basarnas Ternate Fathur Rahman said his party had succeeded in evacuating three victims who were found dead.

The three victims boarded the Bell 429 PK-WSW helicopter departing from Cekel Tanjung Uli Airport (PT.IWIP Airport) Jiguru (JGR) Pinto East (PNE) Kaorahai (KRH) - Tanjung Uli Cekel Airport (PT.IWIP Airport), the victims were then taken to Weda Hospital for an identification process by the North Maluku Police DVI Team.
