Pekanbaru Police Failed To Send 1 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine And 739 Ecstasy From Jakarta Through Expedition

PekanbarU - The Drug Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) Pekanbaru Police arrested two drug couriers in Jakarta. Narcotics types 1 kilogram of crystal methamphetamine and 739 pills of ecstasy were smuggled through packages and sent via expedition services through Sultan Syarif Kasim Airport (SSK) II Pekanbaru.

The two suspects were arrested, namely SH (27 years) and NN (34 years). They were arrested in the warehouse of JNE Jalan Rawagelam, Jatinegara Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta and on Jalan Caringin, Caringin Village, Saga Village, Balaraja District, Tangerang Regency, Banten Province.

Meanwhile, two other suspects, namely A and U, were on the wanted list (DPO). Of the two suspects who were arrested, the police confiscated 1 kilogram of crystal methamphetamine and 739 ecstasy pills.

Pekanbaru Deputy Chief of Police, AKBP Henky Poerwanto explained that the illicit goods were sent on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 yesterday through the cargo warehouse of Pekanbaru SSK II Airport.

"The narcotics will be delivered to someone named A and P on the wanted list (DPO). The goods are packaged in the form of bird food packages, but the contents are methamphetamine and ecstasy," said Henky, Thursday, February 22.

Henky explained, the two couriers received a salary of IDR 2 million to IDR 10 million for one delivery. They send this illegal item to Jakarta.

On Thursday 15 February, the Pekanbaru Police Opsnal Team departed for Jakarta to conduct an undercover and control delivery at JNE's warehouse in East Jakarta. At that time, the undercover officer saw someone suspected of taking a package containing methamphetamine and ecstasy.

"Officers managed to secure the suspect SH. From his confession, he was ordered to pick up the package by someone named Udin alias Acong (DPO) and the package containing the narcotics will be handed over to Eko (DPO)," explained Henky.

Then, after conducting a series of investigations, on Saturday, officers again arrested a suspect with the initials NN at a house having his address at Jalan Caringin, Caringin Village, Saga Village, Balaraja District, Tangerang Regency, Banten Province.

"The two were immediately taken to Pekanbaru for further investigation and processing. Our suspects snared Article 114 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 112 paragraph 2 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with the threat of imprisonment for at least 6 years, a maximum of 20 years, a minimum fine of IDR 1 billion and a maximum of IDR 10 billion," he concluded.
