Demokrat Tepis Isu AHY Jadi Menteri ATR/BPN Karena Reply Budi Jokowi

JAKARTA - The Democratic Party dismissed the issue of appointing the Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) to become Minister of ATR/BPN because of the reward of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). As stated by the Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the PKB Faction, Yanuar Prihatin.

"We don't see it as a form of political retaliation," said Deputy of Bappilu DPP of the Democratic Party Kamhar Lakumani, Thursday, February 22.

According to him, the appointment of AHY as minister is the prerogative of the president. Of course, said Kamhar, President Jokowi had many considerations to appoint anyone who would help him in the cabinet.

"This includes appointing Mas Ketum AHY as Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning," he said.

Kamhar believes that AHY is able to carry out his duties well. Because he considered that the eldest son of the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was a fast learner.

"Although the remaining time available is very short, we believe that at this ATR Ministry Mas Ketum AHY can do much for the people, nation and state," he said.

Previously, Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the PKB Faction, Yanuar Prihatin, assessed that the AHY election to fill the position of Minister of ATR/BPN was a reward taken by Jokowi.

This is because his camp considers that the election for the position of Minister of ATR/BPN cannot be separated from the Democratic Party who chose to join the Prabowo-Gibran coalition in the 2024 presidential election.

"So still, this is a political nuance, maybe Jokowi's return or repayment because the Democratic Party had supported yesterday's presidential election. Yes, I was rewarded with services, return the favor, because yesterday I supported the presidential election," said Yanuar, yesterday.
