Exit Poll Indicator: Majority Of Voters Satisfied With Jokowi Mencoblos Prabowo

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Political Indicators survey institute conducted an exit poll during the 2024 General Election (Pemilu) with results showing the majority of voters who were satisfied with the performance of Indonesian President Joko Widodo voting for the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka pair.

From the results of the election exit, said the founder and Main Researcher of Indonesian Political Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi, about 80 percent of voters said they were satisfied with President Jokowi's performance.

"Satisfied voters seem to reward Jokowi for supporting Prabowo implicitly. Although explicitly, support can be seen from Gibran's candidacy as vice presidential candidate," said Burhanuddin in the Release of the 2024 Presidential Election Exit: Demographic Base and Voter Behavior reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 21.

In addition to supporting the Prabowo-Gibran pair, Burhanuddin said the majority of voters who were satisfied with Jokowi's performance tended to vote for the Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md pair. However, he said, the Prabowo-Gibran candidate pair still dominated the voters because the Ganjar-Mahfud pair had changed the program strategy from "unconditional program continuity" to "improvement of the program".

In fact, he said that Ganjar had sharply criticized President Jokowi some time before the election took place.

"This is what makes the votes for Ganjar-Mahfud disappear because the majority of people are satisfied with Jokowi's performance," he said.

On the other hand, he continued, the majority of voters who claimed to be dissatisfied with President Jokowi's performance tended to vote for the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar pair because the candidate pair number 1 had a "change" narrative for every existing Jokowi program.

Of the total voters who voted for the Prabowo-Gibran pair, said Burhanuddin, 90.8 percent said they were satisfied with President Jokowi's performance, while the remaining 8.8 percent were dissatisfied and 0.3 percent did not know or did not answer.

Of the total voters who voted for the Anies-Muhaimin pair, 53.9 percent said they were satisfied with President Jokowi's performance, 44.9 percent were dissatisfied, and 1.2 percent did not know or did not answer.

"Although it tends to be balanced between those who are dissatisfied and satisfied, the majority of Anies-Muhaimin voters still claim to be satisfied with Jokowi's performance," said Burhanuddin.

Of the total voters who voted for the Ganjar-Mahfud pair, he continued, 84.5 percent said they were satisfied with President Jokowi's performance, 15.3 percent were dissatisfied, and 0.2 percent did not know or did not answer.

The exit poll is an interview with voters who have just exercised voting rights at polling stations (TPS) on electoral choices and backgrounds, including issues circulating during the campaign period.

In the exit of the 2024 election, Political Indicators used the face-to-face interview method by interviewers who had been trained to 2,975 respondents at 3,000 polling stations with a margin of error (margin of error) +/- 1.8 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
