Police Have Arrested The Burglary Of The Kobar Dispora Office

PALANGKA RAYA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the West Kotawaringin Regency Police, Central Kalimantan, arrested a man suspected of being the perpetrator of the burglary of the local Youth and Sports Office.

"The suspect has the initials AS, he launched his action on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at the Kobar Regency Dispora Office," said Kobar Police Chief AKBP Yusfandi Usman at Pangkalan Bun as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 21.

Yusfandi explained the modus operandi carried out by the US suspect when carrying out his actions at the office.

"The suspect and his friend walked through the back of the Dispora office, which incidentally was not monitored by CCTV cameras. Then the suspect pryed the window and took electronic equipment in the sarpras room," he explained.

The suspect came back out through the window he broke, and then pryed out the window in the finance room to enter. He returned to retrieve the electronic equipment in the room.

Yusfandi said that in carrying out the action, the suspect managed to retrieve three laptops, two computers, ten printers, one paper destroyer, three speakers, four calculators, two UPS (battery) and one hard drive.

"As a result of this incident, Dispora Kobar suffered a material loss of Rp. 77,600,000. This suspect received a distribution of Rp. 4 million," he said.

Yusfandi revealed that the perpetrators did not only carry out the action once. The suspect also carried out the same case at a mini market BLAnza Go on Jalan Ahmad Wongso, Madurejo Village, South Arut District, Kobar Regency.

"For this second action, the suspect and his friend entered the mini market, namely by opening the roof and breaking into the back of the shop using a ladder aid and a crowbar. Then after successfully the suspect took the CCTV decoder and then took the merchandise and also the electronic equipment in it," explained Yusfandi.

After successfully taking the goods in the mini market, the suspect and his friend who are currently on the wanted list or DPO of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kobar Police, sold these items.

"As a result of the sale of the goods they divided into two, the suspect received a share of IDR 1.5 million and as a result of the incident the mini market owner suffered a loss of IDR 39,300,000," he said.

The evidence that was successfully secured was a copy of the list of lost items, the rest of the stolen merchandise that had not been sold, one BRI EDC machine and onecctv decoder.

As a result of his actions, the suspect was subject to Article 363 paragraphs 1 to 4 and 5 of the Criminal Code, which carries a maximum sentence of seven years in prison.
