Hadi Tjahjanto has officially served as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) since being inaugurated this afternoon. As the new Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Hadi claims that the implementation of the 2024 General Election is very conducive. This was conveyed by Hadi after the handover of the position of Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs and the initial coordination meeting with Tito Karnavian who served as Acting Minister for 19 days. "What Mr. Tito has said during his time as Plt has carried out good tasks from preparation, implementation, to the peak of the election on February 14, 2024, with all efforts including in the field being carried out properly. Until now, the situation is very conducive," said Hadi at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Office, Wednesday, February 21. On that basis, Hadi felt he had to maintain the conduciveness of the election by adhering to the principle of maintaining national unity and integrity. Hadi said that the first task he would do was to consolidate with units or ministries of institutions under the management of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs to maintain the conduciveness of the 2024 General Election. "I have also spoken with the TNI Commander and the National Police Chief about this situation and will continue to keep so that there are no twists or seeds that can cause things we don't want," he explained. Today, President Joko Widodo inaugurated Hadi as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs at the State Palace. The inauguration of Hadi and AHY was carried out simultaneously in accordance with Presidential Decree Number 34 P of 2024 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of State Ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet for the 2019-2024 Period, which was determined by President Joko Widodo in Jakarta, February 20, 2024.

Previously, Hadi Tjahjanto was the minister of ATR/Head of BPN since June 2022. Hadi is also a former TNI commander who served in the 2017-2021 period. Hadi replaced the position of Acting Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Tito Karnavian who filled the temporary position, after Mahfud MD resigned as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs since early February.
