JAKARTA - The General Chair of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, confirmed that Golkar would reject the DPR's right to inquiry proposed by one of the presidential candidates to investigate allegations of fraud in the 2024 General Election.
"The right of inquiry is the right of the DPR politician. But the Golkar Party and its coalition parties will definitely refuse," said Airlangga when met at the Jakarta Presidential Palace as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 21.
The rejection of the right to inquiry was further emphasized by the joining of the General Chairperson of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) as one of the ministers in the government of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), thus strengthening the coalition of parties carrying the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 2 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
"With Mas AHY entering (to the government), there are fewer (parties) outside the government," said Airlangga.
Apart from Golkar and Democrats, two parties that support Prabowo-Gibran that enter parliament are the Gerindra Party and the National Mandate Party (PAN).
The proposal to issue the right of inquiry was conveyed by the presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo, to his two supporting parties currently in the DPR, namely the PDI-P and the United Development Party (PPP).
The right of inquiry is the right to conduct an investigation into the implementation of a government law/policy related to important, strategic, and broad impact on social, national and state life allegedly contrary to laws and regulations.

Ganjar also encouraged the presidential and vice presidential camps number 1, Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar to participate in using the right to inquiry.
According to him, with the involvement of the PDI-P, PPP, and several parties carrying Anies-Muhaimin in the DPR, namely NasDem, the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), and the National Awakening Party (PKB), the right of inquiry to investigate allegations of election fraud can be passed by more than 50 percent of DPR members.
