Residents Mentally Medical Disorders Outside Bogor, Regency Government Plans To Build Mental Hospitals

JABAR - The Bogor Regency Government (Pemkab) has prepared a plan to build a mental hospital (RS) in Rancabungur District.

The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Bogor Regency, Burhanudin, said that until now Bogor Regency does not have these health facilities.

"We are still reviewing the construction of this mental hospital. It is possible that it will be built in the Rancabungur area, where there is vacant land owned by the government," he said in Cibinong, Bogor, Tuesday, February 20, which was confiscated by Antara.

Burhan said that the provision of mental hospitals is a necessity, considering that so far people in Bogor Regency who have mental disorders have had to seek treatment in other areas, one of which is Marzoeki Mahdi Hospital in Bogor City.

He even admitted that he was concerned when he found out that most of the patients who were treated at Marzoeki Mahdi were mostly from Bogor Regency.

"So it is important that we have a mental hospital, because in Marzoeki Mahdi Hospital there are more residents of Bogor Regency," he said.

Burhan said that so far the Bogor Regency Government has only been supported by 132 health facilities for early handling of mental problems.

He said, as many as 132 health facilities available in 40 sub-districts throughout Bogor Regency consisted of 101 Puskesmas and 31 government and private-owned hospitals.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Bogor District Health Office, Agus Fauzi, confirmed that health workers at the Puskesmas level have been trained to treat patients with psychological disorders.

Of the total number of existing health facilities, Agus said, there are four Regional General Hospitals (RSUD) that already have a psychiatrist to treat mental disorders patients.

Currently, there are four hospitals belonging to the Bogor Regency Government that are prepared to be a reference for stressed legislative patients, namely Cibinong Hospital, Leuwiliang Hospital, Cileungsi Hospital and Ciawi Hospital.
