Rumored To Be Minister Of ATR, AHY Confirmed Democrats Ready For Emban Amanah

JAKARTA - The Democratic Party responded to the news that its general chairman, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) would join President Joko Widodo's cabinet and serve as Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning (ATR). The Democrats stated that AHY was ready if asked by the state to become ATR minister to replace Hadi Tjahjanto.

"His name is a soldier, he is always (ready) to make his life for the nation and state," said Democratic Party spokesman Herzaky Mahendra Putra when confirmed, Tuesday, February 20.

For information, rumors of a cabinet reshuffle were heard again. AHY is rumored to have replaced Hadi Tjahjanto as ATR minister. Meanwhile, Hadi will be appointed as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs replacing Mahfud MD who resigned because he became a vice presidential candidate.

Reportedly Hadi and AHY will be sworn in at the state palace on Wednesday, February 21, tomorrow. In the Java calendar, tomorrow is Wednesday Pon, which is often a cabinet reshuffle momentum in the era of President Jokowi.

Meanwhile, the Head of Bappilu of the Democratic Party, Andi Arief, admitted that he had not heard the news. However, he prayed that the son of the eldest of the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono would be able to carry out his duties well.

"I haven't heard about it, only if the news is true, we just pray that AHY will work well," said Andi Arief when confirmed, Tuesday, February 20.

As a true patriot, according to him, AHY will be ready if the state asks him to serve in Jokowi's government.

"Of course he is a patriot, if the country really asks, he will definitely be ready," said Andi Arief.
