Rival Prabowo Is Encouraged To Immediately Deliver Legowo's Political Speech

BENGKULU - A political expert and academic at Bengkulu University, Dr Sugeng Suharto, said that the rivals of presidential candidate pair Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, namely Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD should immediately deliver a political speech about the results of the 2024 election.

"The election and election votes are, from, for, and by the people, so the people's choice should be accepted. Prabowo has conveyed his political speech saying don't be arrogant and keep waiting for the final result, this is a good attitude. This should be followed by rivals, legowo speeches, such methods are the attitude of statesmen," Sugeng Suharto said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 19.

According to him, when the difference in votes is not too far away, it is indeed fitting for each candidate pair to fight until the appeal of the results.

"For example, the distance is not far from the margin of error, or say 5-7 percent slightly above the margin, it is permissible to appeal and so on. However, this is so far away. Even though this has just been calculated quickly, the results will certainly not be much different from what appears today," he said.

By respecting the election results, according to Dr Sugeng Suharto, of course, all parties also respect the people's decision to entrust their votes to the desired figure to become the presidential pair for the period 2024-2029.

"However, (the presidential candidates) compete, but the decision of their votes remains in the hands of the people, he said, democracy, from, to and by the people, and who is the biggest winner, must be realized no matter what the chosen figure means that figure is what the people want at this time," he said.
