Jokowi Reveals Presidential Decree For Moving The Capital City Should Be Signed By Prabowo

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo said that the Presidential Decree (Keppres) regarding the relocation of the capital city to IKN Nusantara should have been signed by the elected President Prabowo Subianto.

"Yes, it should be like that, the new President Pak Prabowo (who signed)," said Jokowi as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, October 6.

Jokowi said that the previous president said that he could not decide on strategic decisions at the end of his three-week remaining term.

However, regarding the Presidential Decree on the relocation of the capital city, he said, this also concerns the readiness of everything in the capital city.

"Once again I say, moving the capital city is not only a physical matter, but building the ecosystem is what is necessary and the ecosystem must be," he said.

He said the move of the capital city must ensure the readiness of all supporting infrastructure such as hospitals, educational facilities ranging from kindergarten, elementary, junior high/vocational schools to universities, and there needs to be a crowd center such as restaurants and stalls.

Therefore, he said that the Presidential Decree should be signed when all of these things are ready, namely in the era of Prabowo Subianto's leadership later.

"Then the problem related to logistics, where we are looking for something, where we are looking for something, wanting to buy goods, everything must be ready. If now the apartment is ready, but the office is not, what are you going to do," he said.
