DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Strengthens Health Services For KPPS In The 2024 Election

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government claims to have strengthened health services for polling groups (KPPS) for the 2024 General Election.

"This is stated in the Circular Letter of the Head of the DKI Jakarta Health Office Number 8 of 2024 concerning the Implementation of Integrated Health Support in Facing Elections and Regional Head Elections in 2024 in DKI Jakarta Province," said Head of the DKI Health Office Ani Ruspitawati in a written statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Saturday 17 February.

According to him, his party has made several health programs for KPPS members, starting from filtering out prospective members by conducting health screening of 137,355 participants.

In addition, his party also provided basic life assistance training (BHD) to health cadres, public infrastructure and facilities handling officers (PPSU), Satpol PP and 4,000 KPPS officers for the 2024 General Election and 1,000 people trained by the Kebayoran Lama Health Center.

"This training also makes them a 'first Aid responder' in case of an emergency at the polling station (the polling station) where they are on duty," said Ani.

Furthermore, his party also carried out socialization of the healthy living community movement (GERMAS) and other health promotion recommendations to KPPS members at polling stations.

"Integrated health service support posts are also opened, consisting of 44 Statistical Command Posts at the sub-district level and 267 Mobile Command Posts at the kelurahan level," said Ani.

The activity took place during the voting period, counting and recapitulation of votes on February 14-16, 2024.

"We, through environmental health workers at the public health center (Puskesmas) previously have also conducted food safety socialization to KPPS officers," said Ani.

Socialization, said Ani, is carried out at 529 polling stations by washing hands with soap, eating food a maximum of four hours after serving and ensuring food is suitable for consumption.

"Then the socialization of a safe and healthy TPS environment, such as a shady location with good air circulation, is far from the waste disposal site and far from vehicle traffic," he said.

Ani revealed that her party also collected patient data, both KPPS officers and non-KPPS which included officers from the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu), Community Protection (Linmas), District Election Committee (PPK), Voting Committee (PPS), witnesses, other officers.

"Intinya masyarakat yang terintegrasi dengan sistem Pencatatan dan Pelaporan Penyelenggaraan Pemilu Tahun 2024 dari Kementerian Kesehatan (Aplikasi Data Fasyankes Online/DFO). Data tersebut sudah dilaporkan ke Kementerian Kesehatan Republik Indonesia melalui https://dfo.kemkes.go.id/," kata dia.

Ani said, until February 15, 2024, the most diseases experienced by officers were congenital diseases such as hypertension and high blood pressure, as well as mild diseases such as cough, runny nose, stomach disorders and headaches.

In comparison, he said, based on data from the exposure of the General Election Commission (KPU) of DKI in the 2019 election, the most diseases were dominated by chronic diseases, such as hypertension or diabetes.

"From the KPPS officers who access the health services, to date there are 13 people being treated. Meanwhile, for non-KPPS officers, four people are being treated," said Ani.

Ani said, based on data from the North Jakarta City Administration Health Office, there were 17 polling stations affected by the flood, so the voting was planned to return on Saturday, February 24, 2024.

"We will alert and strengthen health services for KPPS members at these 17 polling stations," he said.
