More Than Two Thousand People Treated After The 2024 General Election In West Java, The Majority Of KPPS Officers

JAKARTA - The West Java Health Office noted that so far thousands of people related to holding the 2024 General Election have carried out health checks and treatment. Most of the officials of the Voting Organizing Group (KPPS) complained of dizziness and ARI. "There are 2,602 people (examination and treatment). Most of them are KPPS, there are also committees, linmas, witnesses, and supervisors, but there are also voters," said Head of the West Java Health Service Vini Adiani Dewi as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, February 17. The most cases, he said, were symptoms of a headache of 421 people, an acute respiratory tract infection (ARI) of 138 people, a fever of 192 people, a diarrhea of 126 people. "According to our records, there were four people who died, to this day. We have not seen (the cause). But it is informed that there was a previous heart disease," he said. He said thousands of health facilities had been prepared throughout West Java to anticipate health problems in election organizers, in this case KPPS, post-voting. "Throughout West Java, 1,100 health centers and 415 hospitals have been prepared to anticipate post-voting (voting)," he said. Those who died were members of the KPPS in Garut Regency, two people, one person from Tasikmalaya Regency, one Sukabumi Regency, and two people from Bogor Regency, while for PPS members who died, they were PPS officers from Tasikmalaya Regency. The 2024 election includes the presidential and vice presidential elections, the elections for members of the DPR RI, the election for members of the DPD RI, the election for members of the provincial DPRD, and the election for district/city DPRD members with a final voter list (DPT) at the national level as many as 204,807,222 voters. Based on KPU Regulation Number 3 of 2022, the recapitulation of the 2024 General Election is scheduled from February 15 to March 20, 2024.
