Presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan appreciated the statement by PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto who said his party was ready to become the government's opposition if its presidential and vice-presidential candidates lost the 2024 presidential election. Anies admitted that the National Team for Winning Anies-Muhaimin (AMINAn National Team) and the Ganjar-Mahfud National Winning Team (TPN) had communicated about the progress of the 2024 presidential election results. However, there has been no agreement from either side to address the results of the vote. What is clear, according to Anies, is that his party is still waiting for the results of the official recapitulation from the General Elections Commission (KPU). The former governor of DKI Jakarta emphasized that the election results would be well received by all parties when the implementation was carried out honestly and fairly. "Therefore, make sure the process goes well. If there are shortcomings, report them both to Bawaslu and to each legal team. So, steps can be taken according to the problem," he explained. Previously, Hasto Kristiyanto emphasized that his party was ready to become an opposition outside the government and become an equalizer. Hasto saw that in the second term of President Jokowi's administration, centralized power gave rise to the ability to manipulate, so that power and criticism in the context of policy and implementation required checks and balances. According to him, being outside the government is a patriotic task and has been carried out by the PDI-P after the 2004 elections and the 2009 elections.
