A total of 126 members of the Voting Organizing Group (KPPS) of Batu Piring Village, South Paringin District, Balangan Regency, South Kalimantan (Kalsel) visited the local village office to question the payment of their honorarium as an officer for organizing the 2024 General Election.
"Of course we are very disappointed with the delay in this payment, because according to the circular from the Indonesian KPU, our rights were paid no later than on February 15 yesterday," said one member of the KPPS Batu Piring Village, Ahmad, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 16.
Ahmad said that only the Batu Piring Village KPPS from all KPPS in Balangan Regency had not received honorariums for carrying out state duties in the 2024 General Election.
According to Ahmad, the purpose of the KPPS members came to the Batu Piring Village Office to ask why the honorarium had not been paid.
"We regret this incident, even though we have been desperately for more than 24 hours not to stop working in order to carry out our state duties in the 2024 election, and we just need our right to be paid immediately," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of Intelligence at the Balangan Police, Iptu Faisal Kapami, emphasized that his party promised to continue to oversee and immediately resolve honorary problems including obligations and other rights from KPPS officers to be fulfilled.
Faisal said that his party as a security and order guard also felt what the community felt and this was the obligation of his party to solve the problem.
"Again, I emphasize that this is not only a nominal amount of money, but an award from the state to KPPS colleagues in carrying out their duties in the 2024 General Election," he said.
Faisal added that his party would immediately convey further developments to the KPPS of Batu Piring Village and promised to oversee the issue.
Separately, Chairman of the Balangan KPU Ahmad Turjani admitted that he only knew about the information circulating regarding the issue of the KPPS honorarium at Batu Piring Village on Thursday night.
