Former Governor Edy Claims There Was A Fajar Attack Before Voting In North Sumatra

The Governor of North Sumatra for the period 2018-2023 Lieutenant General TNI (Ret.) Edy Rahmayadi claimed there was a "dawn attack" before the voting day for the 2024 General Election in North Sumatra (North Sumatra).

"There is a term 'fajar' coming, still happening. My assistant got it in the middle of the night, amounting to Rp. 200 thousand. This means that our people are not yet mature," said Edy after voting at TPS 042, Medan Johor, Medan, quoted by ANTARA Wednesday, February 14.

The man who is also the Head of the North Sumatra Regional Victory Team (TKD) pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar regretted the incident.

According to Edy, this also shows the leaders who do not love the nation.

The chairman of PSSI for the 2016-2019 period also asked that incitement wrapped in the lure of choosing certain candidates when the election was no longer held.

Edy emphasized that the people should be given the right to be free of charge to choose a leader without any pressure from any party.

"People can only be invited, encouraged, cannot be forced. Choosing a leader is the people's right in democracy," said the 2015-2018 Kostrad Commander.

Edy Rahmayadi also advised all parties to maintain security and order for the 2024 General Election for the common good.

Edy arrived at TPS 042 at 09.06 WIB accompanied by his wife Nawal Lubis. They came on foot because they lived about 50 meters from the polling station location.

TPS 042 in Medan Johor, Medan, which voted starting at 07.30 WIB, was recorded as having a total of 283 voters on the permanent voter list (DPT) including Edy and his wife.
