TPS in Urimessing Village, Ambon, Maluku, is decorated with love day nuances (Between)

JAKARTA - The 06 polling place (TPS) in Urimessing Village, Ambon, Maluku, is decorated with love day or Valentine's Day with pink.

"Officials from the Voting Organizing Group (KPPS) and local residents deliberately decorate the Polling Station 006 with nuances all pink because the General Election (Pemilu) in 2024 coincides with Valentine's Day which falls on February 14, 2024," said the Head of KPPS at TPS 06, Etwin Talla, in Ambon, Wednesday, quoted by Antara.

He said, the feel of Valentine's Day can be seen from the decorations at the pink balloon TPS forming a symbol of love behind the sound booth.

Love decorations were also found at the KPPS table in various patterns and sizes, as well as on the voter queue. The female KPPS officer wore a pink shirt, while the male wore a white shirt.

"We tried to make something different on voting day to coincide with Valentine's Day on February 14," he said.

In addition to the pink nuances, KPPS officers also provide chocolate to voters who come early to polling stations.

"The number is not much but we are trying to provide chocolate as a sign of love, and thank you for voting in the 2024 election," he said.

One of the voters at TPS 06, Velensya Sahetapy, admitted that he was happy to be able to channel votes in the 2024 General Election. "This is my first time voting in the General Election, apart from channeling votes, I also received chocolate as a sign of affection from KPPS officers on voting day," he said.

In addition to TPS with love day nuances, at TPS 02, Wain Village, Nusaniwe District, the culture of the voters who came to the TPS was greeted by hadrat music.

Nuance of culture coloring the voting decorations at the polling station, KPPS officers also wore cele regional clothes.
