PAPUA - The Prosecutor's Office has prepared 10 state attorneys who will accompany the General Election Commission (KPU) of West Papua if they face an election lawsuit.
"We have prepared ten prosecutors to accompany the KPU," said Head of the West Papua High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) Harli Siregar in Manokwari, West Papua, Tuesday, February 13.
Harli has also instructed the ranks of the District Attorney in seven districts throughout West Papua to prepare state attorneys for their respective KPUs.
The state attorney first followed technical guidance so that the implementation of the task of providing maximum assistance.
"In principle, the Prosecutor's Office always supports the KPU if there is a lawsuit against the implementation of the election," he said.

"Corruption crimes usually appear recently, so there needs to be cooperation so that it can be prevented," said Harli.
According to him, the grant budget disbursed by provincial and district governments throughout West Papua to support the implementation of the 2024 General Election is approximately IDR 500 billion.
The use of election grant funds is mandatory to provide accurate accountability reports according to activity items, because the report will be audited by the relevant institutions.
