Despite Being 'Divisible' In The 2024 Election, 98 Activists Keep Democracy

JAKARTA - Activists 98 were divided because they supported different presidential candidates (candidates) in the 2024 General Election (Pemilu) contestation. However, the value of democracy is maintained to run well.

Afriansyah Noor, who is also part of Activist 98, said communication with colleagues in the Ganjar-Mahfud camp was also running properly.

"So indeed I myself have communication with Bung Adian Napitupulu. So how can Bung Adian support 03, we support 02, which is clear that all successful for democracy is wise and wise, so we continue to build communication," said Afriansyah after holding Sarasehan Activist 98 Maintaining Democracy in Kemang, South Jakarta, Monday, February 12.

The Secretary General of the Crescent Star Party also said that his party did not deliberately invite fellow activists who supported Ganjar Mahfud because the event held today was not a debate event.

"This is a harmonious activist forum and thoughts about maintaining the constitution and the matter of maintaining a good democracy," said Afriansyah.

At the same location, Agus Jabo also advised all 98 activists to continue to maintain democracy and not to carry out dangerous movements.

"Let's uphold, let's respect the democratic system that we have agreed on and we must provide the highest space. We will wait for February 14th, hopefully there will be no situation that will make the situation worse," he said.

Meanwhile, Fahri Hamzah, who is also an activist with 98 supporters of Prabowo-Gibran, said that during this quiet period there was also no need to convey attacking statements that could create a commotion.

"Although yesterday frankly there was a provocation that was too harsh which caused the community's situation to get a bit turbulent, actually that person on Sunday was calm, he had to really calm down." he said.

Present at the event were Minister of Communication and Information Budie Arie Setiadi, Deputy Minister of Manpower Afriansyah Noor, Haris Rusly Moti, Wahab Talaohu, Agus Jabo and Erlinda.

Budie Arie Setiadi explained that so far 98 activists have always struggled with sweat as well as tears for the formation of Democratization in Indonesia.

Budi also invited all people to continue to look at Indonesia in order to look ahead and make the past part of the process for Indonesia possible in the future. And how so that the Indonesian nation can go to Indonesia Gold in 2045.
