PALEMBANG - Inspectorate of Palembang City, South Sumatra (Sumsel), said the head of the Sabokingking Health Center who forbade pregnant employees was threatened with being removed from that position.

Head of the Palembang City Inspectorate, Jamia Haryanti, said that the employees of the Sabokingking Health Center did report the head of the puskesmas on policies that were deemed inappropriate outside the official limit and were suspected of being arrogant.

"A total of 18 employees of the Sabokingking Health Center have reported to the Inspectorate regarding the head of the puskesmas prohibiting pregnant employees a few days ago. Then we mediate and the employees still want the head of the puskesmas to be replaced," said Jamila as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 12.

He added that he had reported to the Acting Mayor of Palembang, Ratu Dewa, and it had been decided that the Head of the Sabokingking Health Center would be removed.

"Due to this problem, we have decided to immediately remove the position of Head of the Sabokingking Health Center," he said.

The head of the Sabokingking Health Center is threatened with resigning and can be functionalized as an ordinary doctor.

Jamila hopes that this problem will not occur elsewhere in order to create good public services to the residents of Palembang City.

Previously, it was widely reported that the Head of the Sabokingking Health Center allegedly prohibited employees at public health facilities (fasyankes) from getting pregnant.
