SOLO - The Surakarta City Government, Central Java, is targeting more than 100 uninhabitable housing units (RTLH) to be touched by assistance this year to relieve the community.

Head of the Surakarta City Housing, Settlement and Land Office, Taufan Basuki, said that by using the regional revenue and expenditure budget (APBD), at least 112 RTLHs received quality improvement assistance.

"In addition, there are 30 new housing units built. They all use the APBD," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 12.

Taufan said the budget used to improve the quality of RTLH was Rp. 20 million/unit, while for the new development the budget was Rp. 50 million/unit.

However, the realization of RTLH handling both for improving quality and development can only change at any time depending on other budgets.

"The handling capability that can be ascertained is from the APBD. Not yet from CSR to enter the company, and also the center," he said.

Seeing the realization last year, 1,687 RTLHs were completed. This figure is an increase when compared to 2022, RTLH completion targets 1,040 houses.

Meanwhile, his party noted that until now the number of RTLH in Solo still requires repairs as many as 3,447 units.

"That means, if that's the case, 2-3 years will be completed," said Taufan.

For this year, apart from the APBD, there is also CSR from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the construction of only 30 housing units. This figure is the same as last year's UAE assistance which was also 30 units.
