PLN Turns Off Electricity In Sumbawa NTB Due To Flash Floods, 2 Substations Remain Waiting For Water Surut

NTB - Region in Sumbawa Regency in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) experienced a power outage or power outage due to flash floods that hit the area.

PT PLN (Persero) Manager of the Sumbawa Customer Service Implementation Unit, Seno Wuryanto, apologized for the blackout.

"We apologize for the blackout that occurred. The current condition, Sumbawa has recovered. We have 2 substations that are still not normalized, waiting for the flood conditions at the affected locations to recede first," he said in a written statement, Sunday, November 11, which was confiscated by Antara.

This power outage, he continued, needs to be done to prevent the danger of an electrical short circuit which could result in casualties. Until now it is still in the monitoring stage.

Checks will be carried out as soon as the flood recedes and electrical equipment is safe for operation.

Seno explained that his party is currently prioritizing public safety and asking for the patience of people who are still experiencing blackouts.

PLN officers are trying to ensure that every segment that will be turned on is safe and does not cause potential harm, so the normalization process due to flooding takes time and depends on the current rainfall.

Dozens of officers have also been deployed to speed up recovery due to the flash flood disaster that occurred.

"Hopefully the recovery process can run smoothly. Please pray and support from the entire NTB community, especially those on the island of Sumbawa, hopefully this flood will recede quickly," he said.
