2024 Election At PPU East Kalimantan, 3,266 IKN Workers Registered To Be Mencoblos

The General Election Commission (KPU) of North Penajam Paser (PPU) noted that 3,266 workers in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) had been registered as a List of Additional Voters (DPTb) until February 9, 2024.

This number is an accumulation of three sub-districts which includes Penajam, Sepaku, and Waru sub-districts. Meanwhile, the number of DPTb outside IKN workers was recorded at 4,614 DPTb.

"Currently, there are around 3,266 IKN voters who are included in the DPTb," said North Penajam Paser KPU chairman Irwan Syahwana at the PPU KPU Office, East Kalimantan, Sunday.

Irwan explained, in the IKN area itself there are two special location polling stations, namely TPS 901 and Polling Station 902.

Each of the polling stations will later become a place for voting for 187 DPTb at 901 TPS, and 117 DPTb at 902 TPS.

"For the IKN area, we have determined that there are two special TPS locations, 901 TPS and 902 TPS with a total number of voters in both locations, totaling 304 voters (DPTb)," he explained.

The rest will be distributed at polling stations located in three other sub-districts. Then, in order to make the 2024 General Elections a success in the IKN area, the PPU KPU formed a joint team consisting of the PPU Regency Government, the IKN Authority (OIKN), and the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu).

The joint team has made various efforts to smooth the 2024 General Election starting from the socialization of voting for IKN workers and disabled voters, securing elections to supervising logistics delivery to vote count.

With IKN, he hopes that the level of community participation in the democratic party event in PPU Regency will reach 80 percent.

"Incidentally, Penajam Paser Utara 2019 has the highest participation rate for our community in East Kalimantan. I hope that (the election) in 2024 the figure set we can remain at the maximum high," he hoped.

On another occasion, Acting Regent of PPU Regency Makmur Marbun said that his party would continue to oversee the process of the 2024 General Election.

Moreover, PPU Regency will be the place where the new capital will be inaugurated.

"The presence of IKN may be different later the situation will be with other districts, because here there are additional workers there (IKN)," he concluded.
