Bandang Floods And Longsor Terjang Sumbawa

The flash floods and landslides were hit by Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

"This flash flood is due to heavy rains that have occurred in the upstream area of Sumbawa Regency since 14.30 WITA," said the Head of the Sumbawa Regency BPBD Management Agency, Muhammad Nurhidayat, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, February 9.

Heavy rains in the upstream area, he said, caused the Samapuin Watershed (DAS) to overflow the mouth of Labuhan Sumbawa Village, causing flooding that inundated residents' houses.

"Because the high water discharge causes the water to overflow from the embankment," said Nurhidayat.

Based on temporary data from the Sumbawa Regency BPBD, a number of areas and victims affected by the flood, include Bugis Village with 370 families (KK) or 1,850 people affected.

Furthermore, the flood also inundated Samapuin Village covering RW 02 with 20 families affected and one house washed away. Meanwhile, in RW 04/RT 06 10 it was affected and RW 05 as many as 60 families were affected, bringing the total to 91 families with 463 people.

In addition, Pekat Village includes RT 01 with 132 families 132 or 700 people, RT 02 with 102 families or 500 people, RT 03 with 194 families 194 or 1,000 people, bringing a total of 428 families with 2,200 people.

Then in Brang Bere Village, covering RW 03/RT 08 with 73 families, RW 03/RT 06 with 6 families 6, RW 02/RT 06 with 7 families, bringing the total affected to 86 families with 344 people.

Kelurahan Brang Bara jumlah yang terdampak 365 KK dengan 978 jiwa dan Kelurahan Lempeh149 KK dengan 617 jiwa.

"Overall, 1,489 families were affected by the flood or 6,278 people and there were no casualties," he said.

In addition to flash floods, he said, there were two points that were hit by landslides near PDAM Semongkat and Berang Dara after the demonstration conservation area bridge.

According to him, a number of efforts have been made to deal with the flash floods and landslides. One of them is coordinating with villages/kelurahan/districts where the incident is affected.

Not only that, his party together with elements of the TNI/Polri, villages/kelurahan, sub-districts assisted by the local community have also immediately plunged into the location. "Currently the water conditions are slowly receding and residents are starting to clean their houses," he said.
