JAKARTA - The Israeli military said it was attacking targets affiliated with Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, including attacking trucks carrying weapons and military infrastructure.
In a statement, Israel said its troops "responded to the attacks carried out from southern Lebanon towards Israeli territory and targeted the sources of gunfire using artillery weapons."
"Israel' air defense fighter aircraft intercepted a suspicious aerial target crossing Lebanese territory," the statement added.
The statement comes after several reports circulated Israel carried out drone attacks on a Hezbollah commander in southern Lebanon.
Earlier that day, the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) reported that an Israeli drone was targeting a car in the city of Nabatieh, without saying whether the incident caused any casualties.
The news agency confirmed that "Israel's drone fired guided missiles at a black Hyundai Range, causing it to catch fire".
