Long Holiday, Vehicle Volume On Cipali Toll Road Soars 40 Percent

JAKARTA - The flow of traffic on the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) Toll Road, West Java (West Java) has increased by 40 percent compared to normal daily traffic.

"During the long holiday this weekend, a total of 71,171 vehicles crossed the Cipali Toll Road," said Sri Mulyo, Head of the Astra Toll Operations Division of Cipali, in Subang Regency, West Java, as quoted by Antara, Thursday.

He said that the traffic flow this Thursday had increased by 40 percent, with a total of 71,171 vehicles crossing the Cipali Toll Road.

He said, seeing the development of traffic flow in the field, Astra Tol Cipali coordinated with Korlantas Polri regarding traffic engineering actions.

The contraflow traffic engineering, which was previously planned for February 7, 2024, at 16.00 to 24.00 WIB, was decided to be postponed, because the traffic flow was observed to be busy.

On Thursday morning, traffic conditions were busy. Then by noon, there was a density at Km 156 towards Cirebon due to a vehicle experiencing a disturbance.

Due to the traffic disruption, Astra Toll Cipali officers together with PJR then evacuated vehicles using cranes at 12.39 WIB.

In an effort to unravel the density, Astra Tol Cipali together with the local Korlantas implemented a contraflow at Km 152-169 towards Cirebon at 09.40 WIB.

Then at 10.05 WIB, the contraflow was extended to Km 147, so that the overall contraflow was applied to Km 147-169 in the direction of Cirebon.

Sri Mulyo said, at 10.29 WIB, the contraflow at Km 147-152 was declared complete. However, until 15.00 WIB the contraflow at Km 152-169 is still in effect.

Meanwhile, after the implementation of contraflow, traffic flow was observed to be busy.
