Cultural Message To Prabowo-Gibran: Form A Level Institution At The Ministry Of Culture

JAKARTA - A group of artists and cultural observers who are members of the Cakra Satya 08 (CS 08) volunteer declared support for Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the Kertanegara House, Jakarta.

Betawi culturalist Harry De Fretes left a special message to Prabowo-Gibran if he won in the 2024 presidential election. Namely, forming an institution at the level of the Ministry of Culture after being inaugurated as president and vice president.

"I want to leave a message to revive the Ministry of Culture, so that we artists will take care of us. Hopefully, Pak Prabowo, if he becomes president, can pay attention to artists like us," said Harry in front of Prabowo's residence in Kertanegara 4, Wednesday, January 7.

This declaration event was also enlivened with a poetry competition with the theme Prabowo-Gibran which was held by Volunteer CS 08. Harry assessed that the competition was part of Prabowo-Gibran's attention to arts and culture.

"This is a real concern from Pak Prabowo-Gibran. And this, for us, is an opening and can make us even more struggling in the world of art, so someone cares about it, it's just fun," said Harry.

Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of the CS 08 Volunteers, Joe Marbun, explained that the poetry competition event which was attended by 30 millennials and Gen Z was a form of volunteer support for the vision and mission of Prabowo-Gibran's work program. One of them is preserving cultural arts.

"Our concern as volunteers is how to express the main ideas of Pak Prabowo-Gibran's vision and mission. That is what is important and that this poem is a manifestation of Pak Prabowo-Gibran," said Joe at the same location.

According to Joe, Prabowo-Gibran has a full commitment to the cultural field which is shown by designing a strategic ministry. Where specifically takes care of the field.

In terms of maintaining cultural heritage, Joe assessed that Prabowo-Gibran placed the government not only as a regulator and facilitator. But it can also intervene in protecting past cultural heritage.

"Pak Prabowo-Gibran has a full commitment to the cultural field. He thinks that it needs to be serious, including thinking about one of the Ministries, namely the Ministry of Culture. That was said by Pak Prabowo in the last debate," said Joe.
