Looking For Missing Fishermen In Buton Waters, Southeast Sulawesi, Basarnas Uses Palasar Technology

The Kendari Basarnas conducted a search for a missing fisherman in the waters of Holimombo Village, Wabula District, Buton Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province (Sultra).

Head of Basarnas Kendari Muhammad Arafah said the fisherman was named Dusman (56), a resident of Holimombo Village. He was first informed that he was missing by bhabinkamtibmas, Holimombo Village, La Sahari at 03.10 WITA, Wednesday, February 7.

"It was reported that one fisherman was missing around the waters of Holimomb Village, Wabula District," he said in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, Wednesday, February 7, which was confiscated by Antara.

Based on the bhabinkamtibmas report, his party then dispatched the Baubau SAR Post Rescue Team to the location mentioned by using a rubber boat to provide SAR assistance.

"The straight path of the location with the Baubau SAR Post is about 21 nautical miles using a rubber boat, while the distance to Holimombo Village from the Baubau SAR Post by land is about 41 kilometers," he said.

Until now, his party is still searching for victims together with crew members RB 210, BPBD Butn, bhabikamtibmas, local village officials, the community, and the families of the victims.

"The equipment used in the search, namely rescue bags, rubber boats, aquaeye, medical palsars, evacuation palsars, communication equipment, and other safety support equipment," he said.

Arafah also explained that the disappearance of the victim began when he said goodbye to his wife to go to sea to his family with a boat on Tuesday, February 6, at around 17.30 WITA.

"The distance of the victim's FAD with the village is about 1.5 nautical miles," he said.

However, he continued, at 18.15 WITA, another fisherman saw the victim's boat empty about 1 nautical mile from the mainland. The fisherman then took the victim's boat ashore and informed the victim's wife.

"The search has been carried out, but until now the victim has not been found," he concluded.
