Jokowi Invites The Public To Use The Right To Choose On February 14

President Joko Widodo invited all voters to come to the polling station (TPS) on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, and exercise their voting rights in the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).

"Yes, I urge the whole community to exercise their right to vote, come to the polling station, and vote according to their choice," Jokowi said in a press statement after inaugurating two Trans-Sumatra toll roads in Batubara Regency, North Sumatra, Wednesday, February 7.

Jokowi also reminded the must for all state civil servants (ASN), members of the TNI and Polri, to the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) to maintain the neutrality and sovereignty of the people in the 2024 General Election.

He also asked the General Election Commission (KPU) and the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu), both at the central and regional levels, to act professionally and maintain election integrity.

"We all have to maintain a peaceful, honest, and fair election, respect the election results, and unite again to build Indonesia," said President Jokowi.

The 2024 election was attended by 18 national political parties, namely the National Awakening Party (PKB), Gerindra Party, PDI-P, Golkar Party, NasDem Party, Labor Party, and the Indonesian Gelora Party., Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS), Partai Kebangkitan Nusantara (PKN), Partai Hanura, Partai Garuda, Partai Amanat Nasional (PAN), Partai Bulan Bintang (PBB), Partai Demokrat, Partai Solidaritas Indonesia (PSI), Partai Perindo, Partai Persatuan Pembangunan (PPP), and Partai Ummat.

In addition, the 2024 election was also attended by six local political parties, namely the Aceh Nanggroe Party, the Atjeh Beusaboh Tha'at and Taqwa Generation Party, the Aceh Darul Party, the Aceh Aceh Party, the Aceh Prosperous Justice Party, and the Acehnese People's Independent Solidity Party.

The 2024 General Election is held simultaneously to elect candidates for legislative members as well as the president and vice president on February 14, 2024.

For the presidential election, the KPU has determined three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates, namely Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD number 3.
